Original Print from Merrill Coffin. The 9th in his series. The size is 18 x 24. These prints are being sold as is from his estate. Prints are unsigned and unnumbered. Due to the age there is some wear. We have 39 only left in stock.

Original Announcement: The ravages of time, unrelenting seas and weather takes a toll on the New England lobster boat. The lobsterman upon periodic examination of his crate, will test for rib and planking damage, dry rot and other deterioration. Normally repairs are executed immediately, though sometimes circumstances dictate neglect and these magnificent boats are left in a derelict condition as illustrated. These "Workhorses" of the lobsterman can be seen throughout the New England coat line.

The "Thomas C." is named in appreciation after the artist's son, who has been of a constant encouragement and ardent admirer of his father's artistic achievements. This is the ninth in a series of limited edition prints. Merrill E. Coffin, who resides in Jamestown, New York, offers his painting "The Thomas C" as this year's print. The original painting is in the private collection of Mr. & Mrs. Walter Barker, Jamestown, NY.
