Unveiling Veils by Roxanne

web site for bridal business

The last month or so we’ve been working on updates for Veils by Roxanne, a local business women, Roxanne Buffone, who creates custom wedding veils. While going through her folder, I realized we’ve been working together for over five years. She’s one of my oldest continuing customers.

This month we added photos to her design gallery. If you have a moment take a peak and see the wonderful wedding veils she creates for brides all over the US.  I asked Roxanne a few questions about her business to share with our readers.

Veils by Roxanne

veils-blogWhen did you make your first veil?
The first veil I made was my own! My maid of honor’s cousin was good at making silk floral arrangements, so we got a book with ideas and she taught us while she made them. And the book had a veil on a wreath of silk flowers. I copied the veil and she helped with the flowers. I have not taken to the silk flower arrangements, but bridal veils fit right in with my passion for sewing and design.
When did you know that you wanted to start your own business?
I made veils for a few other friends over the years and as my alterations business was getting started and I was discovering a market for bridal, I started researching wedding veils on the internet. I tested the market on eBay and it proved successful. My custom veils can still be purchased on eBay and I’ve expanded to my own website designed by Elizabeth Gleason which has doubled my business.
What services do you provide?
In addition to online custom wedding veils, tiaras, and wedding gown preservation supplies, alterations are still a major service that I provide locally. I do mostly bridal and formal wear, but I fix holes and hem pants too. I also do some home decor. My recent large project was curtains for C.V. Bush School’s stage. The curtains I replaced were probably older than I am. That led to some word of mouth and I’m now making curtains for Stockton Community Church’s new stage. They have a beautiful new addition with a stage. It’s going to be a wonderful resource and I’m glad to be a part of it.
